Back With a new rig:1989 Toyota 4x4 Single Cab Short Bed
Hey guys,
I've been out of the toyota community since my 4runner blew the motor last year and I had no money to fix it.
Thankfully I got things back on track and I'm trading my 1996 Honda Accord and some cash for this truck:
It's an 89 with a 22re, and a 5 speed.Mods are a Downey Mega Travel ifs lift, Alcan leafs in the rear, 5.29 gears in both diffs, a Powertrax locker in the rear, and an Arb air locker in the front.Transfercase has been rebuilt and reduced to 4:1, 10,000 miles on rebuilt 22re with a trd cam, downey headers, and an Airraid intake.Jardine Catback exhaust, black steelies sitting on 33x12.50 pro comp a/t's.
Also has a 2" Body lift that will be coming off.
Plans for the truck:
Bumpers,convert a/c to r134a,new carpet kit,new bucket seats. New tires, maybe 33x12.50 BFG Km2's?
And eventually,in a few years, a SAS.
I'll post some more pictures when I get a chance, let me know what you guys think.

OMG... What a score!
Those trucks are so bad ***... Street legal 4wheelers if you ask me...
I miss mine SO bad.
I always said if I ever won the lottery, the 1st thing I'd do is get my wrecked 91 back on the road...
And I would not spare one expense. I wouldn't care if it cost me $250,000 if I had it...
Like Jeremy Clarkson once said; "I think we should build it a plinth" :-(
Such great trucks b/c for one thing the turning radius is way better than on a ex cab truck.

I'll post up some pictures of it tomorrow.
Also has a centerforce stage 2 clutch.
Really like the geared t-case, I've never had one before can't wait to get it on the trail, especially with the arb locker.
The front cv axle's are the porsche slip yolk ones from downey, and it has the downey mega travel balljoints aswell.

Here's my rig.
The lift is the downey/rancho lift with a drop bracket.
I'm considering getting shorter shackles and removing the drop bracket since I'm gonna stick with 33's for now. It's a bit too big for my taste.Any other ideas to get it down 3 inches or so?
I could remove the 2"body lift, but I'd have to relocated the sliders lower and modify the a-frame shock mounts.
Hmmm.
