ARB locker leaks air

Finally got around to hooking up the compressor and running the air lines for my rear ARB locker. I turn on the compressor and everything is good, it doesnt leak or turn on at all once the system is pressurized. I hit the rear locker switch, can hear it engage, but the compressor cycles on and off and there is air rushing out of the differential breather. Disengage the locker and everything is good. I checked all of the fittings with soapy water and the only place air is leaking is the breather, and its alot. What would cause this?

You're gonna have to remove the 3rd member to fix it. That's all.

Removing the third member is easy. What would I need to fix the problem?

The smartass in me wants to say:::::::::: Why, ARB parts, of course.

How can anyone know without examination of your gear.????

Maybe an o ring, maybe a loose union, maybe the tube carried away. Who knows??.

If you bought it installed, but not operational, I'd fear the worst.

I bought it as a complete, brand new third member from Marlin Crawler. When I yank out the differential, what should I be looking for?

Pressurize it and see where the air is coming from. Did you test it before installation??

How long you been running it??? Maybe Marlin will warrantee it ???????

I bought and installed it last summer, but didnt get around to hooking up the air lines until this morning. I called Marlin Crawler and they want pictures of it to be able to warranty it, but since its my only vehicle I dont want it to be down for too long waiting for shipping back and forth. If its something easy I could fix at home in a weekend I would much rather do that. So basically I need advice on what I should be looking for once I pull the third member out, and what parts I should order so my truck isnt down for too long.

Here's some info from Google:::http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/21459/

You can find plenty more, no doubt. Still, no substitute for visual inspection, short of securing and installing a complete new unit.

When I wanted a selectable locker, I bought a Harrop electric. Air is for tires.

I've seen all the seals and all the gear oil blown onto the brakes on several; out in the middle of nowhere.

Not for me.

Ok so I pulled the third member and found that the copper line was rubbing on the ring gear and had a hole in it. I ordered a new seal housing kit with new copper line and new o rings. Got that put in and hooked the air line from my truck to it, and it still leaks air. I can hear the air coming from the opposite side of the locker, its not from any of the fittings or seal housing. My buddy said theres probably gear oil inside the locker from the hole in the copper line. How do I fix this?
