aprox. weight of an 89

What would be the aproximate weight of an 89 SR5 with a 3.0? Thanks

EWAYota 05-13-2006 07:14 AM

4000 lbs roughly

Would I be O.K. towing one of these with my 97 SR5 with a 3.4 or my 92
S-10 4x4 with a 4.3 ? Both of these vehicles have hitches on them so I wouldn't be using the bumper. I would be towing about 200 miles one way one time on the highway only no interstate travel on a car dolly. Thanks for the help.

My 1987 weighs in at 3650 even with all of the upgrades. I brought it to a stone quarry and had them weigh it for me.

Not bad. My weight slip from the lumber yard circa 1991 shows my 1989 at 3675 lbs with the top on, 3410 off. We USED to need a weight slip to drag race at Pismo because they would class you based on weight divided by HP.

BTW.... Correction to your sig line. God made firefighters so Paramedics could have someone to call when "assist the patient" (hefty patients, that is) was needed :D

how much would an 89 longbed weigh with a 3.0 4x4

EWAYota 05-15-2006 08:25 AM

the weight is listed in the drivers doorjam sticker. or go to edmunds.com and do a little research.

NO. That is the GVWR, the maximal amount your vehicle can safely weigh while FULLY loaded. This info tells you nothing on your curb weight...

To determine curb weight, one must use a scale of some type. :)

HeHEHEHEHE!!! Thats great that you have a sense of humour. The fire guys in this city are not too fond of this bumper sticker. I have had a few wave at me with only a middle finger. Oh how I love that!!!
