Anyone rocking a tube bumper with 31's?

I've been going back and forth about tire size, not sure if I wanna go up to 33's or not and I've decided that I'm pretty happy with 31's as they serve my purposes. I have about a 1.5" lift and love the current clearance with 31's, if I were going to move up a size I'd rather have a 3"+ lift. I've thought about a 1" body lift but if I ever SAS this thing I'd end up taking it back off. Anyways, my 4runner is about stripped of bumpers now and I definitely want an aftermarket front bumper. I'd really like an ARB but don't have the funds, so I'll probably end up with a tube bumper with stinger. Was just curious what bumpers you guys have and if it would look adequate with my smaller 31's.

Thanks!

Tube bumper and 31's. I don't have a stinger but it's easy to fab one.

This is before my lift so keep that in mind.

A couple of mine.

In action with the signals still in the cheesy location

Just before SAS with the corner light conversion.

After SAS. Hey, it's still on 31's

You should probably look into SAS if you want to use a tube bumper. IFS doesn't hold up..

I'm deciding between the Addicted and Trail Gear, TG's stinger is almost too big though but I like the shape better. Addicted on the other hand has more of a bull bar style stinger so my Hella's would look perfect in there.

I really like the Addicted bumper. I hadn't seen that before I got my Marlin or I might have gone that route. I like that you can put the OEM turn signals on without the goofy looking angled placement of the Marlin. I recall from another thread also that the owner (Scotty? I don't remember for sure) would adjust for body lifts and also seemed open to changes in or removal of the stinger. Also don't rule out a body lift. I know they are a can of worms on this board, but I love mine. It gets my t case up higher, my sliders up higher and eventually my rear bumper up higher. It makes working on stuff under the truck easier. It also allowed us to put longer shocks on the front of my SAS.

You'll see in the picks the shock hoops are right up to the fender wall.

^ Thanks for the post, that is not something I thought all the way through! I might still contemplate the body lift but then would probably upgrade tire size.

But the beauty is you wouldn't need to. The pic I posted in front of my driveway is 1" BL, BJ spacers cranked all the way down, 3" Downey lift springs in the rear, rear lockright. That's it. If I had it to do over again I would probably skip the BJ spacers, and save the dough. They worked, but they just weren't the make or break issue. I'm assuming a 22re in yours so 33's would really mean re-gear which is $$. Get:

Rear locker
serious bumpers f&r
full budbuilt skids
sliders
Sonoran Steel brace
and if your feeling really jazzed make the lockers f&r ARB's with the full size compressor

...and then take that sucker just about anywhere you want.

BL and BJ spacers would be optional though you would want to decide on the BL before you install sliders and bumpers.

Well I feel my 4runner is pretty quick with 31's now, been meaning to check what gears I have. Anyways, here is a link to my 4runner:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...thread-166863/

There are actually a few reasons I think I am going to skip on bj spacers so it's nice to hear someone not praising them. I also need front lower skids, atleast I have the stock t-case and gas tank skid for now.

Edit: How are your sliders mounted? If they're welded to the frame, they wouldn't be any higher, no?

thanks for the link to addictedoffroad. I'd given up on front tube bumpers because everyone has trouble fitting the MC front bumper and until all the turns signal IMO looked bad slanted like that.

I think the addictedoffroad bumper frames out the winch plate in much more pleasing manner and having the turn signals squared up nicely is the the bomb, not to mention he'll accommodate body lifts.

I think I'm going to buy one.

Ah. I did't pick up on the 2nd gen from your avatar. If you have the v6 I imagine you could get away with 33's just due to the increased power numbers, but I don't really know anything about them, so...

Am I the only one who likes the slanted turn signals on the marlin bumper?
