Alternative to Bilsteins?
 

I'm frustrated. I see that procomp makes a 14" travel (loop-loop) ES3000/9000 shock but I can't find anyone that sells it.

I would imagine Rancho has one in similar dimensions as well but their website is WORTHLESS and all the online retailers want you to match the shock to your stock and or raised truck. IE they don't let you choose the part number to order, instead they make you use their fitting tools (ok for the average joe but im not fitting shocks to anything remotely stock!)

Bottom line I'm looking for alternatives to Bilsteins to save $$$$$. I like the procomp9000's i have on all 4 corners now but soon I'll be wanting about a 14" travel shock front/rear when I SAS.

No problem, I found that little search when I was looking for mine and they asked the same stupid crap, it's like, no thank you, I'd like to actually use my brain.

i have said it time and time again--but Eldlebrock makes some great shocks--I am using their IAS 14" shocks on my truck and they are smooth but firm--highly recommended by me....

Where'd you get your from and how much??

I went with Monroe's and I'm very happy with that decision - this is even after downgrading from bilsteins.

To sum it up... Monroe 13" travel shocks, life-time warranty, available at most autoparts store and usually in stock. Best of all I got mine for 35 bucks a piece.

I have had a variety of shocks and the IAS are my favorites thus far.

I got them from shockwarehouse.com. The run about 100$ a piece.

Thanks for the reccomendation though. I'm looking at the procomps/rancho etc as they're like 35-40 a shock. Trying to save costs off the SAS so I can afford it. I want to buy my tires new so thats a massive chunk of change... My buddies disagree, they all get their tires second hand but I'm not a fan of hunting down tires twice a year. It ends up costing as much sometimes as if you bought new and ran em 3 yrs.

I got a set of used 32 TSLs on right now, I'm sick of the ride quality haha .. Ready for some new balanced mud terrains!

I can save like 150 bucks by not using bilsteins.. I've heard mixed reviews on them anyway (bilsteins) some folks hate how they ride. Personally the cheap shocks do just as good, it's a dampner, plain n simple ! =P

my procomps still ride like they did when i put em on 3 yrs ago so ... cant complain.
