All headlights and driver's side lights out! '88 pickup 22r
Hi All,
I have a '88 yota pickup with a 22r engine. No mods to the electrical system. I parked the truck for a couple of months while and finally started her up today and she started right up! Although I noticed that the headlights (hi or lo) and all of the lights on the driver's side aren't working and when I flip on the signal to turn left I get a consistent buzz and the turn signal light on the dash stays solid. I visually checked all of the fuses and they all seemed in good condition and inspected the wiring harness right around the headlight and nothing seemed unusual. I can hear the relay click when the headlight switch is turned. I can't hear the relay click when the left turn signal is engaged - only that buzz. I can hear the relay switch under the dash click when the hazards are turned on - but that is the right turn signal right? I feel like there is one root cause for all of this - just really awful at wiring diagnostics! Any help would be appreciated. |

22R on an 88 means an engine swap. Possible that in the process, wiring got messed up. For now, check wires that connect left side bulbs to right side. Check fender grounds inside engine compartment (here) to make sure you have good, tight, clean, connections. |
