aftermarket cam??
ive tried searching but its just comes up with people having questions about aftermarket cams, i wanna know if there a definitive way to tell if you have an aftermarket cam??? i know you can tell by looking at a stock one and referencing it but i dont have a stock one to look at...any ideas? as this may be the reason for the truck idleing funny..

hows the performance? is the powerband kinda screwy? does it idle like an old mopar?
|
well i was readin around about cams and some 1 said when its idling it sounds like it has a slight miss, and thats what she does, also shes got stock gears and 35"s...what performance??
|
do you have a powerband such as in the 3000-4000 range, or is it in the lower RPMs?
|
dont really know, i dont have a tach and shes only been offroad for now,

Get out a set of calipers, and measure the lobe size, then get someone to measure their stocker, and compare.
Actually, come to think of it, I'm pressy sure I have a stock cam from an 83 EFI in my attic. I could take some measurements for you. |
Do you mean 93? I didnt think the EFI came on until 85.......
So rough Idle means a factory cam or an aftermarket cam? |
