OK I posted in the tech forums asking if they was a way to bypass the engine knock sensor. No answer and after researching the forums I don't think there is a way to do this. Anyway I just had a new 3.0 put in my 4runner I put a new knock sensor and wire on it. Now this was 2 months ago and now the check engine light come on and the mechanic that did the work says its the code for the knock sensor. Now the knock sensor is new and the wire coming of of it to the harness is new. After reading the forums I go out and and check if to make sure there is no corrosion as I pull the connection apart the plastic fitting coming from the truck wire harness breaks apart in my hand. So maby this is my problem. Is there a place I can get a new wire harness for just the knock sensor to go from the sensor back to where it needs to go or can I get one to replace exactly what I have there now. I think its harnessed with the fuel injection plastic plugs (dont know what they are called) Any help or direction would be very appreciated.
