95 4Runner AT swap to 5 speed

im not really a toyota newbie but this could possibly be the wrong place to post a question about this.

I am trying to get all the info on swapping the automatic tranny out of my 4runner and converting it to a 5 speed.

what do i need to know? I found some 5 speed trannys on craigslist but am currently on a 7 month deployment to the arabian gulf. and i dont exactly want the wife going and picking something up that isnt the right thing since i cant check it out before buying it.

im going to post a couple links to the ads, if someone could check these out and tell me if i am getting the right tranny or not. I have the 3.0 V6 with the auto tranny (disgusting combination). Ive asked the people who are selling them and was told to check yotatech to see if i can get some help. If anyone could help that would be fantastic.

THANK YOU

I know you will need

Clutch pedal and bracket
New or cut the brake pedal so its not so big
Clutch slave and master cylinder
All the clutch lines.
New flywheel because you have a flex plate

I might be missing something. If you have some time, do some searchin.

All those trannys look good like they are the correct ones. Lets wait for someone who has done the swap to chime in lol.

when you get the new pedal bracked assembly, it should come with another brake pedal.

flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts, clutch kit, shifters, cut hole in the floor, boots, new rear driveshaft (the MTs are about 2" shorter [you could get a spacer that bolts to the back of the tranny instead if you wanted]),

The 1st and 3rd tranny that you listed are the correct ones, as you stated, the one from the 99 3.4 is not the correct transmission.

Don't forget, you need the manual trans crossmember!

89-95 r150f (The only manual trans available on the 3vze) is what you want :D

Actually you only need the mount, not the whole crossmember. And go ahead and get all new master cylinder, slave cylinder, and clutch kit to save you the headache later on. Its alot simpler then it looks, you may need a new speed sensor if the transmission comes with a cable driven one, assuming your speedo is electronic being on a 95

Don't forget an ECU. I'm sure you could shunt some stuff to make the ECU think it's doing what it's supposed to, and maybe I'm too picky, but I'd rather do it right and have the right ECU to begin with rather than hacking stuff.
