First off, let me introduce myself to the forum. My name is Chris, and I drive a 95 Toyota Pickup. Nothing to special just 30's and a body lift(it's mainly just built to get me back and forth to the surf).

Ok so lately I've been having a problem with it not starting when it's been warmed up and stumbling around 2500 rpms at any more than half throttle. For instance, I drive to the store and only go in for a few minutes, come back out to the truck with the engine still warm, crank the engine but get no love. It's shooting two codes. I don't remember the number but I do know it was the intake temp. sensor and the o2 sensor. The egine has about 15000 miles on it and has almost all new ignition components(plugs, wires, coil, cap, rotor, and the pickup coil checked out good). Any insight as to what may be causing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I would begin by replacing the two sensors that it threw the codes for. You'd be suprised how the weirdest sensors can lead to the weirdest problems.

My bet is the O2 sensor. Probably going lean on you when warm and too little fuel being supplied is likely causing the stumbling problem.

so i'm looking at the o2 sensor and getting prices and all but everything that is OE is retarded expensive. is it ok to go with one of the universal sensors? any input on this?


also through browsing around a bit i decided to check my TPS by unplugging it and see if it ran any better and again, no love.

Just because it's throwing a code for the O2 sensor or intake sensor doesn't mean it's bad. You need to find out exactly what the numbers are to seriously track down the problem. For instance, there are several codes that point to the O2, and the sensor could be just doing it's job.....picking up a lean or rich condition.

Possibility...
The air intake temp sensor is in the air flow meter. If the air flow meter is going south, that could be causing a lean mix and the O2 sensor would just be picking up on that.
