94 Toyota Front parking brake cable
 

Hey. I broke my front cable. I'm going crazy trying to find one for my 3.0 4wd extended cab for a decent price. I know mine is approximately 94 inches total length. My cable housing is a hair under 66 inches. The one listed for mine is 107.00. The one listed for the 4 cyl truck is like 38.00. The overall length, and cable housing length is the same. Will this 4 cyl front cable fit my 6 cyl truck? Can someone explain why the 3.0 cable is so much higher in price? I need to order one soon. Please advise. Thank you.

If your sure both are for the same vehicle only the engine is different .

I have had very bad luck with After Market parking brake cables it would be my last option

I can get one called OEM from Advance list for 107. They have a $30 coupon right now for this. Their part number is Part # N5010229895OES. It states to be correct for my 94 extended cab. 3.0. I just wonder why the 6 cyl cost so much more? Some people say the 4runner 3.0 has the same cable as mine. But when i look up the 4runner 3.0, it says it won't fit my truck. I notice on the listing for the 2.4 four cyl, 4wd extended cab, it says it will fit a extended cab 4wd 3.0 SR5 toyota truck. Why would the SR5 package 3.0 use the same cable as the 4 cyl? That makes no sense to me. Must be a mistake in the fitment chart. This one is on ebay, and i know those charts are often incorrect. I guess i'll just get that one from Advance for 77 bucks. I've see guys splice cables with cable clamps, to make the shorter cheaper cables work. I don't know what one they use to do this. They must use a piece of the old cable to make the new one reach. I know i saw how to do it somewhere. Any advice by you guys is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Instead of trying to match an after-market part to your truck, why not get the correct part number from a Toyota dealer? I don't have your VIN to match to the part (engine doesn't matter, body style does), but it looks like Toyota sells it (well, an online dealer does) for less than $50. https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/sho...rimLevel=18380

My truck is not a SR5. I don't know why it says it only fits the SR5 trucks? This is a 4runner cable on this link, that also fits SR5 trucks with extended cab. This fitment stuff is driving me crazy. Thank you very much for the link to Toyota Overstock site. I will use them.

I'm going to try the one for the 4cyl trucks. I measured my old one, and it's spot on to the specs of the cable listed for the 4 cyl 4wd extended cab. I'll get back and let you know how it goes. Maybe this could help someone else down the road. Thank you.

I went OEM with mine. There are two pieces, actually. There's the cable from the cab lever to the swingarm near the back of the cab, and the cable that goes from there to each wheel. I paid $250 for my set. I wanted my parking brake to be reliable, so I didn't want to go the Ebay route.
