94 4runner 3.0 v6/5 speed 4runner extreme power loss
hey guys,
my girlfriend just bought a 94 4runner with 3.0 v6 and 5 speed. she bought it cheap with a blown headgasket. my 4runner had the same problem when i got it and i now have over 20,000 flawless miles on my 3vze rebuild...... so why not the same for hers. well i rebuilt hers and got it going but her truck has no power at all. it drives but it takes 5 miles to reach the speed limit, and dont even ask about hils. my truck with the same engine pulling a trailer with a car on it had more get-up and go.
i checked the timing is correct, just replaced the fuel filter, its not burning oil or coolant, there is no clogged cat, the heads where professionally rebuilt and adjusted correctly. i honestly have no idea so maybe someone could give me ideas. i would really appreciate it so i dont have to drive her everywhere anymore

cam timing. TPS needs adjusted. bad MAF. their is all kinds of possibilitys. throw a meter on the TPS and MAF, if those check out then its most likely your cam timing.

I'm also guessing cam timing, thats the only thing that would drastically reduce performance after an R&R of the cams/heads to do the rebuild. one of the cams is prob a couple teeth off...
