Question '91 Toyota unlocked hubs are turning

1991 Toyota 4x4 with manual hubs, one axle spins forward, the other in reverse in 2WD, unlocked. Truck has 1 1/2" ball joint spacers and diff drop kit. What is wrong?

It sounds like you have it jacked up are turning them by hand and it's acting like a typical differential is designed to.

diff shouldn't turn if the hubs are unlocked, could be something busted inside the hub, might be a good idea to pull them apart and inspect the mechanism/gears

Thanks, I would of sworn I thought it was not a hub problem, but after pulling out right side hub, noticed bad internals and that shaft could not disengage. No problem to repair/replace.
