91 toyota 4x4 weird noise please help

I just bought a 91 toyota pickup 4x4 and i noticed wile driving in 3rd and 5th gear it makes a noise not really a grinding sound more like a whining sound its hard to explain the sound its not normal tho. its coming from the front from what i can hear and only dose it when i give it gas. it sounds fine in 1st, 2nd, and 4th gear anyone got an idea on whats causing this?

Bearings in the transmission are toast. Very very very common, happened with my 86 4Runner.

Time for a new transmission, or a rebuilt unit.

Thanks for the help. Am i better off to just rebuid my current one or just get one? what would i need to rebuild it parts wise? how long do i got on my tranny now its my daily driver?
