91 Bumpers and dashes interchange with what years

I have a 91 4runner. At a salvage yard I found a good rear bumper and dash. I think it may be the next generation because the battery and fuse boxes under the hood traded places. What years are interchangeable? Does anyone know how new of stuff will fit on the 91?

The dash is a different color but I figure now a days they make paint for anything. Any one ever paint a dash?

90-95, and 89-95 is interchangable. They used many different styles however...90-92.5 SR5, 90-92.5 DX, 92.5-95 SR5, and 92.5-95 DX. (DX is all plastic, SR5 is Urethane style)

yes. however, there were major changes done in 92.5 for those rigs. They look the same, but many parts are not

My 89 has a three part front bumper that is rivetted together. I don't know which years had that, but I ususally see all one piece. My valence is metal, and grill is plastic.

the 3 piece front bumper was 89-90 (or maybe even 91, not 100% sure) on the trucks

my '91 has the 3 piece bumper as well.

a wierd thing that i've noticed about toyota trucks is that between '79-80 or '81, they used a 1 piece bumper, then '82-83 it was a 3 piece.

then '84-85 it was a 3 piece again, '86-88 it was a 1 piece!

seems like they could never make up their mind on that subject...

86-88 one piece bumper was on the 4x2 only. The 4x4 trucks never came (from the factory anyways) with a One piece bumper from 84-89

The 4runner I have my eye on has the rear middle brake light up above the rear window. Any idea when they started doing that?

I think that is 92 (possibly 93) and up If you could get a VIN# off the truck (from the fenders, door tag, etc) i could run the VIN and figure out what year it is.
