91 22r cranking issues.

I was driving home the other night and my truck started to slow down with no throttle response. I pulled over to the shoulder where it died. I got it to crank up one time after that, but that was it. I tested for air and spark, both were good. I tested my fuel pump which was also fine. The truck cranks and turns over just fine but will not start up and run. Please help, looking to sell this truck and need to get it running! Thanks!

You have spark Air and maybe fuel??

Just how did you test for fuel??

Put diesel in the tank by mistake??

Run out of gas ??

Got to the point the carb is so full of water and dirt it no longer works??

I pulled the fuel pump from the tank to confirm I had fuel and that it is gas I then removed the pick up tube and had my wife crank it. Also my truck has efi.

To test the fuel pump do the jumper below. I pull the line off of the back of the fuel rail and let it fill up a quart jar which takes a minute or so. You will know if it is getting plenty of fuel. Once the jumper and key is on , the fuel should start flowing.

You positive you are getting spark? Check to see if distributor is turning? All air lines hooked up? AFM connector hooked up?

Fp +B Fuel Pump Test for 87 and newer. Use a paper clip for better results.

So is it possible that I could be getting the fuel pump to pump fuel at the tank but it doesn't have to power to push it up to the rail?

A clogged fuel filter would give similar results as to what you mentioned. Pump working but not able to get thru the filter.

Alright so I pulled the fuel filter and some pretty dirty fuel came out but I tried cranking for a few seconds to see if fuel would come out of the input line but nothing happened. Do I need to crank longer or is the fuel pump to weak?

When you said 22R I thought you knew what engine you had.

22RE I would say clogged filter .
