90 4runner power windows, wipers and gauges not working
 
First post. 90 4runner 3.0. Pwoer windows, wipers and gauges not working. checked all fuses, relays and circuit breaker. no power to the gauge or wiper fuses. I stumped, hoping you guys can help me out.

The ignition switch has two contacts on it. Contact #1 supplies power to all of the things you've mentioned plus a few more. Contact #2 supplies power to the ECU and ignition system so the engine will run.

There are separate fuses for each contact. A 40amp fuse for #1 and a 30 amp fuse for #2. I think they are in the underhood fuse box on the passenger side fender. I'd start by checking there. If those fuses are good you may just have a bad ignition switch. Try tracing the wiring as far as you can to see where the voltage gets lost.

Measure the voltage at the fuses. It should be a steady 12V. If 12V isn't present on one of the 40A fuse terminals, then suspect the 80-100amp fusible link has blown. That's just a piece of special wire, not really a fuse. Not quite sure where it's located, but there's info on this forum about it.
