90 4runner--lost 3rd and 4th gear

I just purchased a 90 4runner--I know nothing about these at all..

After the purchase everything was fine---clutched good, shifted good, but then yesterday the clutch pedal goes clear to the floor, and its hard to shift, so I started shifting with out pushing in the clutch, since it wasnt doing anything anyways, and then I lost 3rd and 4th gear.

I know that the issue with the pedal is that the bracket it torn, not super concerned with that at the moment, the concern is shifting into 3rd and 4th gear, Please can anybody point me in the right direction here?

I have 1st and 2nd no problem and reverse, I have not tried shifting into 5th gear..

Update: I can shift into 5th gear from 2nd

I have a manual 86 4runner, recently Ive had to take the gearbox out because I had trouble with 1st gear and completly lost 2nd gear. Was having trouble with the clutch so had to shift hard. Once the gearbox was out and apart I found I broke the 1st2nd selector fork. Maybe its the same thing...the only way to find out is to take the gear box apart.

sounds like you have a hydrulic issue with the clutch.

there is the master cylinder next to the brake booster, that needs to have fluid in it, then there is the slave on the outside of the trans under the truck.

fill the clutch resivor with fluid and bleed the slave. even if the throw out fork/bearing is dead you should still have decent clutch 'feel" if not troubleshoot the hydrulics first then move to mechanical issues with the clutch/trans.

btw what is lost 3rd and 4th mean? like cant shift into them or you shift to them and the truck runs like its in N?

I have the same thing going on right now (except my clutch is fine i replaced it a couple months ago) i havent tore out the tranny to put the new one in yet (i am going to rebuild the broken one so i have a spare) but the general concensus is that the shifter fork broke.
