Hey guys bought a 89 22re the other day, paid 2k

what I noticed so far, motors seems to run decent although I have yet to do a compression or leak down test but here's where I fudged up. Def running rich, failed smog on the CO and I'm guessing I'm getting about 11mpg. Was set at 0degrees TDC for the timing, when I changed it to 5-7degress it's idling at about 1400 so I'm guessing the last guy retarded it to keep the idle low. Also has all the other tell tell signs, makes a sewing machine/ ticking noise only when I'm on the gas and def smells like fuel. Based on that I'm guessing exhaust maifold leak? Again havnt had time to diagnose more indepth.

Frame seems straight and no serious rust and body only has slight rust. Now I'm not a mechanic and I'm not even gonna try to play one online, I have zero suspension knowledge I tried posting some pics but apparently I fail.

Can someone tell me in my pic of the engine bay what the plug is supposed to plug into? thanks a lot
