88 yota transmission problems

on my way home from work pulled out from stop sign and now i wont shift out of low gear i have R and low but thats it. what could it be

Is there trans fluid in it?

Check the tranny fluid...wipe it on a clean paper towel and post a pic.

Does it smell burned?

Initial guess is forward clutches are smoked.

Lets see the fluid.
