'88 V6 ext cab Toyota 5spd - Help!

My brother recently passed from cancer and left me a few misc vehicles - 1 is a 1988 V6 Toyota 4x4 ext cab pickup - 5spd. He was always proud of it but I know very little about them - It only has about 130k miles on it. I understand they have a nice reputation and I'm hoping to get some smart advice from other owners - esp. if I proceed with selling to help know general value and what common issues/problems to look for before putting it on the market. thanks in advance, Gill - Western NC

Sorry to hear about your bro:(

Do you have any records of maintenance? Pics? Lots of variables when selling, looking for the right buyer is the biggest as enthusiasts is where the cash is at, blue book, not so much.

Like Disco bob said, post some pictures, underhood, interior, exterior etc. anything you could tell us about what modifications may have been made to it could effect the value.
We can try to help you with a ball park guesstimate, but car prices vary from state to state and if you get two Toyota nuts into a bidding war on a low mileage peach there is no telling how much they might spend. If it's a rust bucket your best bet would be to part it out or find "the guy" that wants to restore it.
I also send my condolences on your loss, cancer sucks

theres plenty of yota clubs in NC, id jump on NC4X4.com and look through the threads there, you can most likely meet some of the regulars.

Thanks

Thanks to all for your help. I'll take more pics when I get back down there and check for service records. These are the only ones I took while I was down there and it was filthy from sitting and recent pollen bloom. Gill

Nice straight truck, if you give it a bath then take the wheels off and hit them with some scotch-bright pads and rattle can some paint on them it will help to sell it for a decent price (looks are everything).
I would have a hard time putting a number on it, but here in Alaska any good running 4x4 is worth $2500 or more. That truck I am sure is worth more, but the interior is important, and the condition of the steering/suspension, brakes, engine (leaks etc.) Definitely check with some local enthusiasts to see what clean Toyota pickups are going for there.
