87 Runner Engine code 11 & 12

I am pulling an engine code 11 & 12 on my 87 Runner (22r-e 5 speed).
My check light comes on only after revving to about 2500 rpm. It comes on when the rpm comes down. Where should I begin checking?

Look in the FSM to start diagnosing the related components. The link to that will be posted in the sticky on the main forum page.

That depends on if the codes being thrown are a one digit or a two digit code.

Speaking of which.....are they one or two digit codes? For example, if it flashes "one" and then pauses for split second to then flash another "one", then it's two digit. If it flashes a total of eleven times without pause then it's one digit.

It is 11 straight and then a pause, then 12 straight

Found the knock sensor issue

I found the knock sensor wire broken. I repaired it and cleared the codes. No more check engine light when I drive it. However, I still get 11 flashes in the test mode indicating TPS history. (Code 12 went away upon the knock wire fix) Did the ecu not clear itself or do I still have TPS issue? How doe this work?

Again -- I get no check engine light but there is still a stored code 11 in there.

Any thoughts?

How did you go about clearing the codes?
