87 Centrelink Stabalizer Bolt Rubbing on Pinion Stop
So I have an interesting issue. I just replaced most of my front end steering. I have had the vehicle aligned and while driving aroud I noticed when making a sharp left turn and steering back around to straight there was a popping noise.......pretty loud.
I lifted up the truck and had my daughter turn the wheel while I filmed the following. What is the hive mind suggestion here? Lower profile nut and bolt? Or??? |
grind 1/4 inch off of the nut and stud, it looks like an aftermarket stabilizer, if you have to you can put a tack weld on the nut to keep it from backing off.

Yeah, the shock itself is a Monroe the Centrelink is OEM though. I figured either getting a lower profile bolt and nut or griding like you are suggesting would be the best route. I'll definitely tack weld it too.
