86 4Runner - Rear Window Relay Issues/ Questions - 85930-89101 165000-0452

Hello Hello!!! My time spent reading through Yotatech over the years and finding answers has come to a halt. I finally cannot find an answer to resolve my problem! So here is it...

86 4Runner Rear Window Relay.
I had some issues with my back window not working after some water damage to the fuse box under the dash. I thought is was due to the fuse box but i have now traced the issue back the relay in the drivers rear B pillar #85930-89101. Well, I think so, this relay is really confusing.

Long story short, I traced the issue to the relay#85930-89101. (I THINK :()--
1 - Key in tailgate works UP/DOWN (after I jumped the wires in the tailgate lock switch on drivers side tailgate and plugged it back in) - My key did NOT work before I did this. - This is the mod i did (SKIP TO MINUTE 3:45 or so-
--- also inserting image for quick reference.
2 - Interior controls on console still do NOT WORK (yes, i plugged the #1 mod connector back together after jumping it.
3 - With ignition ON, I get 12v with at pin#4 and pin#5 on the relay board CONECTOR (unplugged) when using interior console controls UP/DOWN (yes, the lock in OFF)
4 - When I have the relay connected, I am getting constant 12V at the pin#4! So i think something is jacked here.

How to I trace the issues on this relay board? i don't have $100+ to buy a used one on ebay and dont want to trhow parts at it.

Also, I do not mind bypassing this relay all together but the threads I have seen all mod it so you don't have the use the ignition... I consider the ignition a security feature so tweakers can just break my window, then roll down the back window and empty by truck. My biggest question about this is how to connect the key without iginition AND the console, WITH ignition. Do i just run separate relays and connect each output to the motor? Seems the polarity is reversed or something for up/down. again confusing.

Any help would be great.

Here are some picts for reference. last one is of my truck up in the Sierras

That's a pretty white MoreFunner!
You sure the blue-red and green-red should be connected? Schematic shows that Blu-red should be connected to wht-blk to allow switches to connect to ground via top-cover off switch.
When door is unlocked: wht-blk connects to grn-red.
When door is locked: wht-blk connects to grn-red.
What I would do to verify is:
1) Open tailgate: there should be no continuity between ground and pin2 of top-cover off switch. There should be continuity between ground and pin 2 (G-R) back door unlock warning switch, and backdoor open light will be on.
2) Close tailgate: there should be continuity between ground and pin2 of top-cover off switch. There should be no continuity between ground and pin 2 (G-R) back door unlock warning switch, and backdoor open light will be off.

One simple tip: Disconnect the whole connector at the rear wiper. Absolutely eliminates any doubt on the wiper retract/park switch.

Meanwhile I'll keep on watching the video. GREAT JOB PUTTING US AT YOUR TRUCK SO WE SEE WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH. I wish more people would do it when asking for help.

A modified system is hard for others to help troubleshoot remotely.
Keep the system stock. Then check against this: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52355907

To make the console window lock switch also control the tailgate key switch, simply move pin 1 of the tailgate key switch to pin 2 of rear power window lock switch (console)

I hate the stupid roll-up window on our trucks, and would much rather have a simple flip-up or like on campers and one the FJ60. Brainstorming here.
That would also make the tailgate about 25 pounds lighter and free up space for more storage in there. However, I'm too busy with adventures to even work on the mods - LOL!
