83/84 yota, or 85 yota or 90 4 runner

Alright first off the 1990 four runner, I found a guy who has this, it hasnt ran in about 3 years, being that the fan mount and a couple of pulleys, were stolen, The body is straight, but interior needs a good shakedown, its the 3.0 5spd, with 4.10s, he wants 1500 i think I can get him down to 800-1000, should I risk buying a bad motored truck?

Next is a 1983 that hasnt ran in a while, (bad head) I think, it was given too me jus recently, should i rebuild the motor or possibly do a 22re or even a 4.3. and then go through the whole b/s wit the title because the guy didnt a property thing with it.

The next truck is a 1984/85 yota, the body is pretty thrashed, cab is good, motor decent (I think) same guy gave me this one. same situation, btw its a 22re auto. and the motor does need a rebuild for the whole piece of mind factor,

Lastly a 1980 with a 22r, and 4" lift and 2"bl, 5spd, 35x12.50 , needing some body work, and interior love. 2500

what do you guys think I should do, I am in the process of selling my 1991 toyota reg cab v6 3.0, because i personally love the 1st gen 4runners, and I've been chewing on these other 4 trucks for a while, and i know this is forums is for ifs trucks, but ya i wanted to combine them all so ya, and ill post pics hopefully tomorrow.

hmm tough questions....
The 80, 83, and 84/85 are all solid front axle so that takes a lot out of the equation. But if you can determine the 84/85's year as being 85, it has a front axle somewhat stronger than the 84 and earlier years due to gusseting.
Rebuilding or replacing any of those 3 engines should cost about the same regardless of the year since they're all 22r (though the 84/85 may be 22re), but the 84/85 will probably be a single row chain while the other two will most likely be double row chains unless the PO swapped a newer engine in at some point.

Thinking about what I wrote, unless you absolutely want a 1st gen 4Runner and won't compromise, go for the 84/85 you mentioned. But if you really want a 1st gen 4Runner, hold out til one comes up for sale with the 22re. Or maybe buy one of these, clean it up and sell it and earn some money off of it.

thanks abecadarian, and sorry for not specifying i own the 83/84 an i call it because it was made june of 83 which would mean an 84 but it carrys the 83 body style, and the other one is actually an 85, 22re auto, which the body is pretty rough on, so i was thinking about finding a nice 85-88 body and just swapping them, because the cab is good, and the reason im reluctant on doing either one of those is because i dont have the titles, i'm told they're obtainable, but i'm not sure about how to do the property title. as for the 1980 the 83/84 has a straight body, and I was thinking of purchasing the 1980 and swapping body parts, or possibly vin plates and lift and motor.
