60,000 mile maintenance?

I have anew engine in my 94 3.0. I just got the transmission leak I had fixed, and it wasn't cheap! I have never had my check engine light come on ever since I've owned the truck(a year next week). I bought the truck at 167,000 and the previous owner said the engine had been replaced entirely about 50,000 miles ago, when purchased. I have put about 10,000 maybe 11,000, on it since. Would a replacement engine make the check engine light come on at 60,000? Any help would be great, I don't want to take it in thinking it's just a sensor when it's the 60,000 maintenance.

The check engine light on the older rigs, even newer ones, does not come on after so many miles, it is triggerd by codes. The newer ones have a maint light, but that comes on every 5K.

Did he say why it was replaced? 117K seems like very few miles for a rebuild..

yea his daughter lived up north and she had gotten in a wreck when she was very young, so to deal with the snow he bought it for her with 4wd so she would feel more safe, so she had it up there for 2 or 3 years, can't remember, and she never got the oil changed in it, it blew up and he got it replaced for her but when he got it replaced she was almost out of school and she had been interning so she bought her own car, so he just used it around the house to make runs to Home Depot and such. My dad has an '06 and i'm pretty familiar with the maintenance light but i wasn't sure how such an old car suggested maintenance.
