5VZ-FE fuel injectors in a 3vze ? vs aftermarket
I was thinking of upgrading my fuel injectors. would the denso (1995ish) 5VZ-FE fuel injector fit and work good in a 3vze ? and if they work do you guys think it would be a better upgrade than the flamethrower or Bosch 4-hole fuel injectors? thanks

Go for the orange, The 3vz is not fuel starved at all.
The grey ones are also loud because they have no dampener against the fuel rail and you can hear them clicking all the time and they also go really rich during open loop.

i cant find where to buy the flamethrower injectors and was hoping that the 5vzfe or 3vzfe injectors would work because those might have better fuel atomization cause they have 2 smaller holes for the fuel to come out instead of just one big one

Aloha from Hawaii! I'm in the same canoe, trying to figure out which fuel injectors to purchase to replace my gunked up stock Denso injectors in my 94 pickup 3vze. I'm going back and forth between just buying a refurbished/reman'ed Denso set for $100 on EBay (which is cheaper for me than sending my injectors to be refurbished) or the Bosch 4-hole. @vasinvictor: what kind of tuning would have to be done with the Bosch 4-hole upgrade? Not a good idea to upgrade with my 20yr old all stock rig? Thank you for the help

PEOPLE!
Search for the most recent two threads about flamethrower's injectors (in this section, probably on page 1 still maybe page 2). There are some helpful discussions there for you all!
FYI: Orange flamethrowers are not available anymore. They are being replaced/are replaced by tan ones.

Flamethrower seems to be the way to go on the 3.0 especially on a mild modified motor. I am ordering a set for my 95 rebuild and probably spent a week looking over reviews and write ups from guys that are running his injectors. Out of all of my research I only found like 3 guys that had not been satisfied vs the dozens of happy customer reviews. All most all claimed smoother idle, stronger low end response, and low to mid range feeling stronger. I would suspect the 3.4 injectors flow significantly more then the stock 3VZE injectors but you would have to compare flow rates at the same PSI to compare. Long story short $140 from flamethrower is a good deal for a product that is proven and takes the guess work out of it.
Now if if you are spending 3-5K and building a forced induction set up that's a different story but if your staying NA I suspect the flamethrowers will get the job done.

The issue I see with the 3.4 injectors is you really don't know what they are rated at vs the 3.0 injectors unless you bench test both at the same PSI. It's one of those things your taking a chance vs going with somthing that is proven. If cost and time is your main concern I would personally play it safe and go with what stands the best chance of working. Plus flamethrower has good customer service.

I have heard nothing but good things about them and their service...
It kinda messes me up... my #5 is getting spark but no fuel and the only code i am getting is a lean fuel mixture code....
All in all it runs good but for a rough idle in gear...

I had really good luck with the flamethrowers in my 3VZE. They run rich for about a couple of months but after a while & some minor tuning you can dial them in. It took a good six months before they were dialed-in perfectly for my taste.

Timing at 12-14, VAFN two clicks lean, spark plug gap and idle screw @750rpm. When i first replaced all the injectors I got a bit of an engine shake around 2500 rpm but after 6 months of tuning it runs pretty gosh darn good now.

Pretty sure these are the ones I bought about a year and a half ago. These are reman. I thought mine were new but they look just like these and the price is the same. Very satisfied especially since they came with the pigtails. My wires were burnt up pretty bad so I just cut the original connector off and grafted in the pigtails. I ended up getting a near perfect engine harness given to me but didn't have it at the time. Would have liked to replace it then but the pigtails did the job just fine and the injectors were as good as factory or better. No complaints whatsoever.
