5MGE Swap on IFS First Gen?
So I have a 85 Supra parts car im about to pull the motor and send off to the scrap yard in a few weeks. I just had an idea to swap the motor into a 86 First gen I will be picking up in a month (or whenever they get the title).
So from the few hours of research I did, I've gathered information on wiring, and engine mounts.
But what I cant get a straight answer on is, what is required to get the motor into an IFS truck. Most of the swaps Ive came across were SAS or pre IFS trucks.
Do I absolutely have to do a body lift for the hood to close? And which oil pan is a direct drop in to clear everything on a IFS? My friend was giving me a 6MGE mid sump pan two days ago with pickup tube. But I told him to toss it, he may still have it. Just need to know if I need it.
I'm not new to 5MGEs or 22RE. I just have more experience with the Supras and Celicas.
Thanks guys!
The truck I'm picking up has a lift on it, but Im not sure if its all suspension or some body. The rear bumper gap makes me think theres some body lift to it.
