4.56's from Automatic '90 into Manual '95 w/ stock 4.10's?
Title says is all, can 4.56 gears from a 1990 4runner with automatic trans go into a 1995 4runner with manual trans and stock 4.10's?
The info is definitely out there somsomewhere, but not too easy to find so far! Thanks all |
OK, it is plug and play, pull the third from the rear and swap away. Same thing with the front chunk.
As long as your ratios match you are good to go. conversion has been done thousands of times. |
Agreed. Did mine in April. 4.56's out of auto 91 Runner, replacing 4.10's in my 94 DLX. It's pretty straightforward. Biggest PITA was getting the front diff in. Be sure to brush up on your vocabulary, you're sure to run off a sentence or 3 of 'encouraging' words to that SOB. Just make sure both front and rear are the same ratio, you're good to go! Good luck!
94 pickup, 22re, 148k, 4x4, 33x12.50's, body lift, '05 Tiburon buckets...more to come |
Thanks so much guys. My brother has had the '90 3.0L sitting with an electrical issue for years and meanwhile my 22re has been running beautifully but can barely turn the 31" tires it has. This should help pep things up a bit!

Now your talking v6 and 4 cyl. I believe v6 has 4 pinion (spiders) gears and 4 cyl has 2. Carrier may still fit though......

Putting V6 third members in for 4cyl is a common upgrade
