3vze redlined when throttle stuck, now noisey
welp the runner got me through the winter, now i can drive my camry while i work on the runner.
my throttle was sticking before a while back and i shot wd40 at it. i think the chemicals i used to clean the spring dried it out so it needed lube. that's what i thought was happening to me yesterday when i was shifting gears and the engine revved out of control when i went in neutral. i don't ever take it above 4500 rpm when i drive but it was stuck full throttle redlining for a second or two. i had to blip the pedal to make it stop. it happened 3 times on my 2 mile journey to work. when i got to work i noticed the screw fell out of the connector for the top throttle cable thing and that was catching it sometimes like a fish hook and keeping it open. and now around 2400 rpm there is a noticeable tick from the top half of the engine.
i think im going to pull the valve covers and look for damage.
