3vz-fr?
Hey all, I'm a newbie. I have a '93 4Runner. I was looking to possibly swap the engine and as I am looking on-line, I come across 3VZ-FR engines (mostly from Canada - I'm in the U.S)? I have seen 3VZ-E and 3VZ-FE and know they are far from the same, but is the 3VZ-FR compatible with the 3VZ-E? What is it? Are they interchangeable?
Thanks, Keats |
Its a JDM engine.
i tried to locate some info on it, but could not, other than it being a JDM 3VZ similar to the 3VZE i would stay away from it for sure. Imagine if you cannot even find info for it, where would you find parts for it? |
See if someone close to the engine can take a look at labelling on it..fr might mean french (quebec) where they require that everything be labelled in french first, and english later.... It's just a guess though

Is that the one that was in the Camry?
There are numerous threads on here about trying to make it work ... major PITA since it's designed as a transverse engine. |
the camry used the 3VZ-FE not the FR. The FE cannot be used in the trucks or 4runners without some MAJOR mods.
