3.0 Cylinder #3 Misfire

Got a buddy with a RV with 3.0 in it.Brought it to me with misfire.Cyl 3-I thought no sweat, blown head gskt or burnt valve,WRONG.Has good compression. No spark coming out of dist cap,no sweat, bad cap & rotor,WRONG.Took the dist out of my own 3.0 to try in his,WRONG.Anyone been here before. We swapped wires, plugs, dist still #3 no spark from cap.

try the main coil and ignitor... but that should be a global effect not isolated to #3... Are you sure about no spark on that cyl? Could the injector be clogged?

ok what signals the coil to trip for each cylinder? The problem may lie there if the coil isnt tripping for cyl #3... I go pouring through my FSM's

It could be the camshaft - my uncle had that problem with a knub that broke off (I think anyways).

Have You Tried Testing Firing Sensor That Triggers The Coil To Fire On That Particular Cyl.? It's Prob Not Picking Up The Signal Meaning Either Bad Exciter Ring Or Bad Sensor.

well it could be firing and just not getting any fuel. Maybe injector? Harness? or even ECU but I believe they are all batch fired. Did you try the ol' stick a sparkplug in the wire and grab a hold? If it hurts you are getting spark.
