3.0 block heater location question.

Hello,
The wife ended up driving out the driveway without unpluging the block heater - wrecked the cord, and pulled it out of the truck... Replaced the end of the cord, but don`t know where the blug is ment to attach to the truck. Does anyone know where the female end is meant to plug into the truck for the block heater - any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
-I have tried searching, and found nothing pointing the direction.

Happy Holidays!

It will probly be in a freeze(welch)plug on the lower end of the engine block.

Would there be a place that I could find a diagram, or something pointing to the location?
thanks for the reply.

doubt you'll find a diagram. if I remember correctly, block heaters were aftermarket options. so, look around the engine.

On both of mine they are just around the oil filter.
One is just to the right of the motor mount.

They are indeed not a factory installed option, unless you have a diesel engine. They could potentially be anywhere, so there is no diagram to tell you where they are.

Thanks, I'll shall "check around the engine" that narrows it down a lot!
I am only asking as it's -40 degrees celcius here and i'm out in the cold and would like to spend as little time as possible searching.

I shall check round the oil filter - I realize it will probably be on the block. Just don't know where the frost plugs are in these engines. Never had one apart.

Happy New Years.

Well in all fairness it could be anywhere on the entire engine, so the only real advice we can give you is to trace the wires and check around the engine ;)

Would it help if I told you where it ISN'T installed? :D
