2wd lifts and prerunners
Sorry if the topic has been covered before. I couldn't find the info I was looking for so here goes:
Are there lift kits for 2wd trucks (anything between 1990 and 1999). I would like the fuel economy of a 2wd but a little more ground clearance than the typical mid '90s toyota truck. Maybe just a few inches and some more aggressive looking tires. I love the prerunner look but want something economical as well.
I would also appreciate advice about the best generation truck to perform this on, etc.
Thanks!

with this setup i still get 22-26mpg in both city and highway.
if you want to find some used parts a few good sites are http://www.race-dezert.com and http://www.dezertrangers.com/vb/. both these sites are very busy and stuff is added everyday.

Thanks Robert.
I'm still undecided on this concept but I do want something more economical than my extended cab chevy (16.5 mpg avg.). It has to be extended cab though. With a kid, 2 dogs and lots of tools, I can never own a regular cab truck again

i dont know about out in kentucky but theres alot of companies in CA that make all sorts of lifts for 2wd. You can check out offroadwarehouse.com i know they ship stuff. But as for other companies like camburg, H and M make perfomance 5.5 kits (upper arm fabricated spindle etc) that keep the stock lowers. check out race-dezert.com for more 2wd ideas
