2wd or 4wd radiator difference?

Well I figured I'd go have some fun today in the yota. Didn't turn out to good. We got half a foot of snow and in some place a couple foot drifts. We also had some freezing rain so there was some ice. I went blasting though a big drift and put some holes in my rad. One it leaks out but some other damage, some of the tubes are smashed and I made it home just kept filling it up. Only 10min away from house.

Well an Autozone new one is around 250$. I looked on ebay and found some for 100$. Brand new from a store. (says OEM quality or better) I bought a corner light from a store on ebay and it was good quality. I am going to make a skid plate that covers the rad up so this doesn't happen again. I didn't get the chance to call a slavage yard yet but I think it will be around 50-100$.

What would you guys do. I think it's to big to patch or repair. Please help me.

Aaron

I have option #5

http://www.radiatorbarn.com/s7.asp?a...size=L4%2C2.4L

Prices have gone up i see, i paid like $105 shipped. option 5 is a 3 row as compared to a normal (oem) 2 row. I wanted maximum cooling .. after over a year of dealing with a cracked radiator top and fighting overheating then getting one (only a year old) off a parts truck which ... btw dont buy a USED radiator.. it was worse than the cracked one i had since the inside was corroded and most of the fins were clogged.

anyways, radiator barn good place! Havent had any problems with this radiator!

You shouldnt pay more than $150 or so for a radiator.

assuming you have the 22RE ?

I've had good luck with these guys: Trail-Gear

I bought a V6 radiator from them.

Radiator Question

I have a 93 4Runner 2WD and I matched a radiator number from my vin with the part number I got from the dealer. Of course I had to go aftermarket. The radiator I had was not an original, it blew out so I got another one. I measured the core and the width is exact but the tall is about a 1" bigger at the bottom. The mounting holes match. The one I got shows the cross reference for my part number but shows a 4WD. With is being slightly bigger, will it still be ok to install? The thickness of the core looks the same.

Only way to know is to try it. It seems lately I have had bad luck finding a radiator that fits correctly. One truck was my 88 4runner v6. Rad cap was too tall and hit the hood, all so cap in wrong location. Second truck was 94 4x4 pickup 22re same problem as my 4runner. I don't know if its a bad run of radiators or what. Anyone else having these problems?

Its just extra cooling. Youll be fine.
