2nd gen rear bumper ideas

I got rear ended a lil while back and my bumper got dented up purdy good so ive been in the market for a new rear bumper for quite a while. I like the look of my chrome one but its near impossible finding one for sale around here and they can get a lil pricey on ebay. I love the look of the BCC ones but dont have the money to shell out for one of those. I dont mind the look of a tube bumper but dont like the little ugly rear fender parts showin. What would you guys think about gettin an AllProOffroad rear bumper, or having one made like it, and fillin in the sides. I know the plates would serve for next to no protection but i think it would look alot better then having those ugly rear fenders showin. I have a friend that is good with welding and metal work so i figured it would be no problem and a lot less money out of my pocket going this route. Am i just bein stupid or do you guys think this would be a good lookin idea. Anyone try or though of this before.
Thanks

-Kyle

Jason, that is a sweet looking bumper. Nice to see a fellow North Carolina member up here. Did you make that or pay for it made? Wanna sell?

I took pictures of my favorites.....Big Rocks, Marlin, etc. to a local guy here and he made exactly what I wanted for about $100.00 less than I would have spent on a premade one..plus I didnt pay for shipping!

Came out great!

You can always cover up the area behind like 4hummer did, but I am not bothered by it.

hmmmm, we do have a fabrication shop around here. Anyone ever heard of Elite Fabrication. I wonder if i could take some pics of BCC bumpers up there and try and get somethin like that made for a little cheaper. I might get my hands on a purdy decent chrome one from Steve but if somethin doesnt work out then that is always an option. I think the tube bumpers look really cool but i dont think it would go really good with my truck unless i had other tubed objects like sliders or a roof rack or somethin.
