2nd Gen engine swap for new 4.0 V6?
Has anyone tried doing a swap into a 2nd Gen with the new 4.0 V6?
The engine bay is a HECK of a lot less complicated with the new engine; what did they do with all those darned vacuum hoses & wires?!!?

There is a guy who put one in his I think it was a 92' pickup about a year or so ago. Try doing a search. It might be on other boards in here so try that too. The just of what I remember was he got the thing started in his engine bay, but I don't think he got it to actually power the vehicle yet. The 4.0 V6 is a very tall motor, so you would need to lift the truck somehow and make many more modifications than if you just swapped in a 3.4. The other thing was he used a 4.0 V6 from an automatic 4runner and he had a manual tranny. So he had major modifications there trying to get the tranny to work. IF I would do it I'd try and find a 4.0 with the 6 speed manual and swap in the tranny and the engine.
