2nd gen ARB Bullbar + Budbuilt IFS Skid question
I am running a WAAG Brush guard on my front end, and have the chance to upgrade to a 1988 ARB Bullbar.
1) what year bullbars will fit on a 1992 2nd gen (is it 1989-95 or is the range bigger).
2)this is a non winch bullbar. Can these be upgraded/modded to winch models?
3) Will an ARB Bullbar cover the crossmember?
here's what Bud told me, and I don't have an ARB yet to compare. I don't want to have to remove my budbuilt IFS skid which rocks.
"I think the ARB might wrap around the front crossmember. If it does, it MAY cover the mounting holes that our skid uses".

the bull bar will wrap around the front crossmember but should have holes drilled into bottom so skid plate will still bolt on. as far as the bumper deing upgraded i wouldnt think it could be done because i believe the demensions r differnt and u would have to modifie the mounting holes but if it were that easy as just drilling holes than im not sure why they would make a non winch bumper.

ARB 3414070 winch version on a 94 4Runner
If you get the opportunity you might want to take a look on the inside driver?s side of the bull bar there might be an ARB part number there. Mine showed ARB Bull Bar Part # 3414070. The information I dug up on the winch bar version is that it fits the 1986 -1994 Toyota Pickup and 4Runner models with independent front suspension systems, and accommodates the Superwinch X9, Warn M6000, M8000, and XD9000 winches. I can tell you that on my 94 4Runner I had to widen the holes on my bull bar another ? inch to get it on because they didn?t quite line up on the driver?s side but the stock skid plate bolted back on the same way it started. If you?re looking to upgrade to the ARB 3214070 (the non airbag model) and if I remember right, it?s the same bull bar with out the holes cut in for the winch. I think it could be modified to accommodate a winch but it?s hard for me to see how it would be worth while to do so. Looking at mine it seems like you would need to cut through 1/8 th inch steel in many places and probably weld on reinforcements to thicken it up in others. Looks like quite a bit of work to me.

Any more on info on this? I have a '91 with an ARB winch bumper and am wondering about unique issues trying to fit a Budbuilt IFS skid with the bull bar. My ARB has two bolts in the front and the skid will mount fine on the front cross member.
