22RTE, what's the thing worth?

I recently picked up an '86 pickup with the 22rte in it that also has the custom king cab and is 4x4. I can't find very much info on the thing and was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark estimate on the value.
The guy I got it from said it's a new long block and rebuilt head and it also has a new turbo with a custom sleeve to keep it from cracking like they're prone to do. Anybody who knows much about these trucks, let me know what you think.
Thanks
-Joe

Talking I got a 4runner 22rte

will still new too this all, but i got ah 87 4runner 22rte. Bought mines for 2k with an old front mount intercooler n old school HKS blow off value but its an auto cause if i'm right all the 4runners that was turbo came in auto only. So if your is stick and not auto, ur trans if still working should be around 1k by its self, correct if i'm wrong anyone cause i'm looking for a turbo trans 5 speed myself if its running it might still be worth sumthing good. Can't give you ah number but for sure higher then what i paid for mines

It all really depends on the condition. They are definitely rare, so the value would be about 500 to 1000 more than a similar non turbo truck.

Red face

It is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Find someone who just has to have that truck you can name your price.

I sold a good running engine complete for $1500.00

I dont think he is looking to sell it since he just got it.

If he were, I would be interested ;-)

I don't see them priced much higher either, I see them quite often on CL here in CA and it's pretty much whatever you want to pay for all 22r series rigs. I used to own an 87 22ret 5spd xcab 4wd - fantastic truck that I miss. Yes they have more power but they are not as common and likely desirable because of it, they can have their issues compared to a standard 22re (more potential problems with turbo unit, cracked manifold, oiling, etc).
