22RE Toyota truck acting weird..
Hello
Driving my Toyota truck Friday and the Battery and Brake idiot lights came on when I would stop or idle they went off...I turn on the blower motor idiot lights would go off..
I noticed that there was acid coming out of the battery. So, did some comparision shopping and got and Optima red topper battery for 120.00 bucks. Advanced Auto I did comparision shopping saved twenty bucks. The lights have not come back on..However, the blower motor would not work for Saturday and part of Sunday.. Then all of sudden I turn the car on and the blower motor is working fine..
What gives?? Is my Yota being controlled by ghosts??
Any ideas possible a ground?? What you think??? Opinions please...

The corrosion on your old battery was causing the lights to flicker most likely. Sounds like the switch may have some corrosion on it as well... Usually in the blower motor circut thats the only thing to go bad... I would run with it for a while and keep us updated unless it happens again... Ands thats just talking not having seen the situation so yea...

x2 on that advice
That blower motor resistor just sits in the blower motor housing with 1 screw. trace the wires from your fan speed switch, it will lead you to it.
The resistor has a coating on it that should connect all 3 parts (youll see what I mean when you pull it out) The connection could be bad but sometimes is touching somehow?? That was the case for me, $10 at Kragen.

another way to check the resistor without looking at it is just to run the blower. When the resistor is going bad, you start losing fan speeds starting with low then up and up and up until you are left with only high fan speed, because this speed's circuit doesn't go through the resistor.
But like I said before, the resistor could be connected sometimes, and then you hit a bump or something causing a bad connection, then causing the blower not to work.
