22re motor leaking oil
heres what i got, i have a 94 toyota pickup with a 22re. i replaced the oil pan gasket because i thought that was the problem, now i still have leaking oil. i seems to be coming from somewhere near the belts because its flinging it everywhere on the engine, any clues?

My seal is leaking as well!! its on my list of thing i'd rather not be doing today. It just started leaking about a month ago. I replaced it about three years ago when I rebuilt the motor. I think I am ready for another rebuild lot of hard DD miles and offroad hours.

Nope. Drain the radiator and pull it. Remove the belts. Get a puller for the crank pulley, pull the pulley, pull the oil pump off the front of the block, replace the seal in the oil pump, replace the skinny little gasket, bolt it all back together and fire it up. Check for leaks, be happy that there aren't any and love life. It takes about 2 hours.

get a socket that fits the bolt and a long breaker bar... pull the coil wire... put the socket and breaker bar on with the breaker bar against the driver's side frame rail and crank the engine for about 1/10 of a second.
remove the bolt and the pulley 'should' slide of with maybe a bit of resistance.

so pretty much wedge the breaker bar on and turn over the engine really quick, where is the coil wire located, and i guess that means ill have to put the oil back into the truck lol.

ignition coil- center terminal of the distributor- pull the wire from the distributor and ground the end of it.
won't need oil in the engine cause you're only going to use the starter long enough to spin the crankshaft and loosen the bolt.
