I am trying to install a Megasquirt 3 diy box into my 87 efi pickup. I was running perfectly when i started so i know that all of that side of the equation is good. I have the box done and all the firmware/software installed, Im running tunerstudio. Its wired into my pickup via the directions on the "how to megasquirt your 22re" on diy autotune. I just can't get it to fire. I can see most of the guages on my laptop i.e. coolant, tps, iat, o2. But i am not seeing rpm, i believe this is my problem but im not sure how to resolve it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe there are some changes that have to be made to the megasquirt to get it to work with toyota's VAST ignition system. The instructions are on diyautotune website. I think there is both a mech change and some software adjustments to get it to work.

I have rewired the ms3 for the toyota setup per the diy instructions. And also followed the instructions on pining the connectors.
