22re knocking sound under acceleration
Howdy all, I just finished a rebuild on my 1994 22re with 230k miles. Put in an osk dual row timing kit, new timing cover, oil pump water pump etc. Started up no problem, been driving it for about 140 miles. Drove it all around today, purred like a kitten and then I stopped to get gas. Filled her up with 91 octane and the truck wouldn't restart. After giving it some gas it finally restarted...only it knocks like crazy now. Loses power under load and acceleration. When downshifting without gas, it still sounds smooth.
I'm stumped, did I get bad gas or something?

that's a bummer, if you can hear it knocking in the cab it's not a good sign... i'd imagine that you already adjusted the valves.
you could try dumping the oil into a clean container, look for metal particles, and cut the filter open, search the pleats for metal particles.
