22RE Coolant hose identification

Is there any way to identify what a hose is referred to on a 22RE? The factor service manual doesn't tell me anything and I need to replace a bunch.

Specifically, I'm leaking from the hose on the right the comes out of the block between the alternator and power steering pump. Anyone know what I would call that when looking to replace it? Sure would be nice to have a reference for all the hoses on this motor.

Also, I was thinking if they were all sold as a set, that would be nice too. Anyone know of anything like that?

not sure if this will help.

sounds like you are talking about the one that comes from the timing cover to the block....a short but wide diameter hose. got my from TOYOTA...best price i found was www.trdparts4u.com (Toyota of Dallas)....even with shipping, they beat out my local dealer with me picking it up.

That's the one.

So anyone know of a kit? Something that replaces the hoses for radiator and to the firewall?

92 TOY 09-08-2010 02:41 AM

nah...don't personally know of a kit.

but....since i did do alot of price shopping, i would give that site a try for sure for what you need. that hose, especially , is so buried, that even if you didn't need to replace it, you should while you are there

92 TOY 09-08-2010 02:42 AM

i apologize...the link actually ends up being this http://www.toyotapartsales.com/partl...?siteid=214074 which you would get to eventually from that original one.

You can get that from a regular parts place too. It's often listed as a lower radiator hose but referred to as "pipe to water pump" vs. "pipe to radiator."

You don't need to buy an OEM hose to get a good quality one. I think Dayco or Gates makes the ones that Toyota packages anyway.

92 TOY 09-08-2010 06:38 AM

NPA had it as well, and i'm sure you can get that most anywhere....i did OEM because i was placing an order with them, so i knew it was going to right....but yeah.....with hose-in-hand, you can likely get that most anywhere.

Question about this?!

The one from the lower rad to the pipe should be Dayco B78015, and from the pipe to the water pump should be Dayco B71383.
The one from the thermostat to the upper radiator should be Dayco C71262.

The "pipe" is a hard part not available from the aftermarket, that I know of, so would have to come from the dealer or salvage.

That pipe is called "Radiator pipe #7" by Toyota. At my local dealership it's $120+tax. I imagine you could find it for $60 or so via an online dealership retail site.

Or you can simplify the whole factory setup and do what I did. Flip the rubber hose in that pic so that it's pointing directly towards the front of the truck. Get one of these http://www.northernfactory.com/HIGH_...OR_TUBE/Z71000 and one of these http://www.northernfactory.com/HIGH_...OR_HOSE/Z71031 Way more simple than the factory setup, and you get rid of that stupid steel pipe that hogs up a lot of room. Hog A LOT of room on the turbo truck like mine.

Good info, Mr furgeson. I've wondered how to fix that design. Opens up the alternator space, too? Got a pic?

I have one on my cell phone. It's an old crappy phone and I don't know how to post it on here. I'll see if my wife can snap a pic to post on here tonight. Ironically the place we get those hoses is in eugene, and I see you live in springfield. And yes, definatly opens up alt space.

SPARKS89 12-07-2012 08:29 PM

Take a look at toyotapartseast.com. They have excellent images with reference numbers to find exactly what you need.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of all the parts I buy that has the name, Toyota part number and prices from several places. I'll post it for you Monday. I just ordered all new hoses and a thermostat this week and they arrived today actually. Nine hoses and a thermostat totaled $231.35 including shipping from oemparts123.com. The local dealership wanted $301 just for the hoses.

The red pulley is my power steering pump pulley. You can see the hose flipped from the water pump, with hose clamp to the upper left of that. Then the 90* hard pipe,to the 90* silicone hose that goes to the bottom radiator hose. The black silicone hose really blurry, hard to get a good pic where it's at.
