in my research i can only say that this is highly debated so i don't know if i should pay these shade tree mechanics to mess with the cam or not.....if it is different how much of a difference will it make in the engine

ok guys update on what is happening with my truck.....the motor i put in was a carborated out of an 85. i research and everything was suppose to work well got motor sat in and started bolting the rest of the stuff up and in intake was different. so we said we would just swap heads with my other motor. so we removed the head and to everyones suprise the dadgum pistons are different. the broke motor has flat tops and the other has the round pistons on it. so now i guess im just SOL. 300 out on this junk motor and 400 out to have it installed.......not having a good day.

what do you plan on using the truck for? at this point as you said you are already in like 700 bucks. the cheapest/easiest route would be run a carb instead of efi. did the motor not come with the carb or intake?
