1st gen noise during acceleration
I drove my truck about 400 miles round trip this weekend and it did pretty well (244600 miles) however about halfway there a noise started when accelerating. I pulled over to check things out and nothing appeared to be irregular. When I got home, I noticed that my pinion seal blew up and the third is leaking. I recently replaced it and both axle seals (axle seals held up). At one point in town, my truck slipped out of first. ..which has happened a few times before. Could the noise be coming from the tranny? ideas? When I let off the gas the noise goes away and then comes back when pressing the gas pedal - even had sort of a scraping sound at times. Thanks in advance for the help!

Ehh well there is some fluid on the front drive shaft and it feels like the noise is coming from that area...I rotated the shaft and it did so OK. I tried to move the u joint but there wasn't any play..
