1994 22re Dropping Idle

On a 1994 22re pickup. Been having an issue with my truck idling bad, started in the winter during the cold. It would hiccup and drop down, but after adjusting the tps it went away. It came and went but never stayed around long enough for me to be concern, however the last few weeks it happened more and more until the idle would drop so low the engine would stall out. Seemed to be a little worse while applying the brakes, and on a side note, the shifter started to jerk around while In neutral as the idle started to drop. My engine has less than 30k on it, just had the exhaust gasket replaced, and I know that my afm needs replaced as well. So I guess I’m looking for a couple things

- Advice on what could be causing the idle/stall issue, I.e some sort of vacuum/brake booster leak

- Any ideas on why the stick would start jerking around while in neutral

- Recommendations on AFMs, I.e better to find one from a scrap yard, try my luck with a reman, etc.

Id appreciate any advice you guys have on this!

As far as the shifter, the tranny is hard mounted to the engine, so if the engine starts to kick around because it's running like crap you'll see that in the shifter bouncing around. Not anything to worry about.
As far as the idle, no check engine light? It could be cracked or missing vacuum lines, or something like the MAF sensor or EGR gone bad (does the 22re have EGR?)

Yes it certainly does. It's located at the back or the Throttle Body. Several components. Very easy to find. Just a quick glance is all it takes :)

Does this help at all?

Yeah go through all those vacuum lines and make sure nothing's cracked, broken, or missing. I don't know if that particular EGR can be cleaned, I spend more time around diesels these days, but I've seen them get plugged up and cause similar problems. Otherwise, if there's no check engine light all you can do is inspect system by system. Maybe someone who's had the same problem will come by and point you toward a more specific solution.
