1993 3vze clutch job. (bakersfield)

I'm such a nice guy that i told my buddy id help him change his clutch.

93, 3.slow, 4x4, r150f trans.

Got the drive lines off, sway bar is gone, exhaust brace is off, shifters are out,

pretty much, we just need to get the starter off and we can start pulling the tranny bolts.

Any tricks to getting the starter off? We are kind of looking around like deer at headlights.

So uh... Advice? Or anyone in bakersfield wanna come play?

you got to take it out from the passenger fenderwell, might have to move some brake lines and wires around to fit it out, but it comes out that hole. Just like on the first gens. Try to take it out any other way you will continue to look like this:

there is a panel that you can remove 4 bolts... in the fender well on the passenger side. It makes access a little easier. Also make sure you disconnect the battery.

take off the steering stabilizer and get about 2 foot of extensions to hit the front bolt

then hit the rear bolt disconnect clip

take all the panels out of the passenger fender well and maybe the tire and get ready to fish move wiggle cuss and repeat

perhaps take it apart and check the contacts while you have it out.

All apart... tranny only comes about 2.5" away from the motor though.

I hope it is something catastrophic in the tranny so i can just walk away.

Why wont it come out?

Tranny and t case dont need to be in neutral or anything do they?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Also, disconnect the battery of you may be welding with that starter wire.

I bet the top of the tranny is hitting the shifter hole in the floor board. Happened to me, I just bent it up a little.

bellhousing is hitting the firewall.

Gonna jack the motor up a little bit and yank her out this weekend.

My jerkoff friend never mentioned that his buddy grant was a toyota master mechanic in the mid 90s before he became a crane operator.

If it still has the factory exhaust crossover, you have to give the tranny a little twist to the driver side and it will clear.
