1992 22re Pick up Started to lose power lost all poer now will not start any Ideas?
Hello, I have a 1992 pickup 2wd 22re. I was driving the other day and the car began to lose power I drove a mile or two toward home and it died. It still cranks over. For awhile I thought it was the cat being plugged. So I went had lunch and tried it cooled off. It acted a little more interested in running. You could crank the starter and it would fire for a very short time. I got some tools went back to the truck to split the exhaust at the front of the cat. On return to the vehicle She wouldn't start. So I towed it home. I checked fuses and they are all good. My next step is the igniter/coil and distributor. Got any Ideas?

it helps to let us know what you have tried so far so we aren't spinning our wheels for no reason.
And before you start replacing stuff, it's a good thing to test things first.

Thanks for the lead. I will let you know what I find. I had recently replaced the Transmission. I will check to make sure the sensor connections are good. I have a flat bed and the fuel tank was covered with snow and ice for about a week. I will check the fuel pump wires. When cranking after splitting the exhaust I did smell gasoline. That is why I was leaning toward spark check first.
