1990 Toyota Pickup runs sluggish in lower gears
This is a 4wd 4cyl 22-RE:
I just replaced the timing chain guides and reset the ignition timing. But now the truck runs pretty sluggish in first through third. Was only able to get the ignition timing to 12 DBTDC. I believe the proper timing is 5 DBTDC. But I can't seem to find a tooth on the distributor that will get me there.
Anyways, not sure if it's a timing issue or not, but after mucking around with the chain guides it's definitely not running as well as it was.
Replaced all the plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor. New valve cover gasket and water pump.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
